A/N: hii, I hope this is alright and what you had imagined!

When you woke up in a random bed, in a new environment with random people, you almost started to have a panic attack. Usually, you don't really show your emotions, you just keep them locked inside you and let a war rage in your mind while appearing to be calm about a situation you can't be calm about. After the initial shock wore off, you made your way to the middle of this area filled with beds, where other contestants or players with different numbers started complaining to the guards, that wore pretty ridiculous outfits you thought, about where their belongings went and other stuff.

After getting to know the rules of this.. 'game' you guys were playing for money, as everyone including you was here because of huge debt or money problems, you were led to the first mini game. Everyone went up the stairs while upbeat music was playing in the background, the fun colors of this environment stinging in your eyes. Suddenly, you hear someone whistle behind you: "Señorita!" The voice of a man seemingly called out to you. Without stopping, you turned your head around to face a purple-haired guy with a shit eating grin on his face. "Wow, what is a pretty thing like you doing here?" Without giving him a reaction, you just shrugged and went on, feeling your legs grow tired of climbing these stairs.

"What? You don't know?" Player 230, the numbed on his chest, seemed relentless. "Well, yeah, I obviously know. You do too, we're all in here because of one reason." you answered him, matter-of-factly, not giving him the time to speak to his face. "Have I already told you how pretty you are?" This guy's flirting techniques weren't really that great. He continued to shower you with compliments, to which you mostly didn't reply or at most said "Thank you."

When arriving at the top, every player had to take a picture in front of some screens. Conventionally, Thanos, as you gathered his alias was from others who seemed to know him, was waiting in the queue next to you, now talking with.. his fans? You didn't quite get it, but apparently he was some sort of rapper you had never heard of. A few players wanted to take a group photo with him and when he said yes, he looked at you, still waiting in line for your turn. "Hey, you there. Come on, you can be in the picture, too." Thanos said, signaling you to come over to him. Raising your eyebrows slightly, you just waved it off, with it now being your turn to take a picture.

Entering the open-roof arena of sorts, with the femald voice explaining the rules of Red-Light-Green-Light to the players, you found yourself next to Thanos, again. "So, you don't know who I am?" You just said 'no' and looked at him expectantly, like you wanted him to explain who he was. It seemed to annoy him. The man went on about how he was a rapper, even demonstrating that to you with some cheesy rap he came up on the spot, until he was interrupted by some guy, yelling that everyone who'd move during red light would die. How drastic.

"What is he talking about?" Thanos whispered, but you didn't show a reaction and rather listened to what Player 456 had to say. It started to really get on Thanos' nerves that he couldn't even coax one reaction or emotion out of you. No matter gow charming he was or how many questions he asked, you remained aloof. He kind of liked it.

"Must be on drugs, huh?" Another attempt of him to talk to you, to which you shushed him. The man in up front was talking about how you'd get shot if you moved, that being disqualified just meant they'd execute you. You didn't want to believe him, like, this sounds too crazy to be real, right? Yet still, you were determined to follow his directions. Everyone lined up on the white line, the mechanic girl doll thing staring you down. It was big and scary, also mysterious in some way. How would they shoot eliminated players? Would she shoot lasers out of her eyes like in some kind of film?

You found out pretty quickly that it was just guards who did it, as one girl panicked when a bee landed on her and that set off a chain reaction with others trying to run for their lives, just to get it taken away from them. You were floored. Splatters if blood landed on your face from one woman being shot right in front of you, Thanos not far away experiencing the same. Player 456 was screaming everyone to either run or freeze, depending on if it was red light or green light, guiding the remaining players through the game quickly.

Thanos and you had been locking eyes everytime you were supposed to freeze, him sending you a small wink everytime he saw your disturbed face. Unbeknownst to you, to everyone, he had taken some kind of pill out from his cross necklace, some kind of drug, and was now bouncing all over the place, like this wasn't serious. He reveled in the fact that he was able to get a reaction out of you now: you were mortified everytime he did something even remotely dangerous. Aww, you cared for him!

Going as far as pushing other players over, getting them killed, you concluded that this guy was mental.

The last few seconds of the given time were scary. You had made it over the finish line, saving yourself from a gruesome death, just like Thanos.

"Glad to see you on this side, Señorita. Would've been too bad if I couldn't have seen your pretty face ever again."

I am a huge high cloud quintet enjoyer so it may surprise you to learn that I absolutely hate the quest “Clouds Leave No Trace”.

let me explain. I will admit that a lot of it stems from my issues with Jingliu as a character. I appreciate that she’s meant to be cold and detached, but what bothers me is that although she says considers herself to be a sinner alongside Yingxing and Dan Feng, she constantly acts like she’s better than them, criticising them, acting as if their choice was an easy one while hers wasn’t. Her humility feels incredibly insincere, and she becomes very difficult to empathise with as a result.

then there’s the quest itself. I split it into three parts.

one: redundant infodumping

For the first part of the quest, Jingliu, Dan Heng and Yanqing travel to different parts of the Luofu so Jingliu can bid farewell to her past home. It’s basically a plot device for her to drop some lore about Yingxing and Baiheng, which is fine on its own, but the problem is, none of the information she gives is new. All of it was stuff we could already figure out from character stories and other in-game text.

the second issue with this part of the quest is Dan Heng’s presence, or rather, lack of it. Considering he’s the main character tying the quintet subplot into the main story, you’d think he’d be important to the quest focussed on them. But he’s just… there. He says and does pretty much nothing. You could cut him from the whole quest and it wouldn’t be any different.

In fact, Dan Heng also suffers greatly from the timing of the quest. If we look at the voice lines for IL, it’s obvious that he’s a snapshot of Dan Heng shortly after this quest, since he knows Blade is the one who made Cloudpiercer. Ichor Of Two Dragons also seems to take place at the end of this quest. This is an issue because both release in version 1.3, making the quest which takes place in version 1.4 feel like a regression in his character development when actually the story was for some reason out of order.

part 2: Dan Feng gets mischaracterised to hell and back

This is the worst part of the quest by far. Jingliu does her self-righteous monologue and nails the coffin shut by giving the most biased description possible of the Sedition.

she first says that Dan Feng was trying to revive Baiheng. Dan Heng’s and Jingliu’s character stories reveal that this is probably not the case, and that his actual goal was to create another high elder,

she also says that the reason Dan Feng did what he did was selfishness and an inability to accept Baiheng’s death. She fails to mention the fact that the Xianzhou treated him like a convenient weapon instead of an actual person, that he hated how many innocent people died in the war between Aeons, that his people were going extinct because of said war, that he hated how he gave the Xianzhou the power to cause so much death, that he had probably attempted less dramatic rebellions in his past lives to no avail, that the high elder succession was incredibly screwed up and he didn’t want to have to pass that burden on to his next incarnation (granted that lasts part’s only implicit). Not to mention that she didn’t actually bear witness to any of the events she described, only the aftermath.

part 3: Blade monologue

This is the only redeeming quality of the entire quest

he acknowledges that Dan Feng and Yingxing weren’t simply upset with Baiheng’s death, but with the unfairness of everything in general

he expresses genuine regret

and the way he looks up to Jingliu after she tortured him is the only time where that story genuinely presents her as someone who’s done terrible things, showing how she managed to break Blade so badly that he feels thankful for it

in conclusion, do not play this quest if you want to actually understand Dan Feng as a character

my other ted talk is that i think it's a boring decision for solas to have been that personally involved in tranquilizing the titans. like firstly why does a lyrium dagger... do anything to titans. they are already made out of lyrium, why would poking them with a drop of their own blood even hurt them. if they want the dagger to have been infecting them with some sort of lyrium-borne tranquility disease (???) that needs way more explanation bc it doesn't really make sense on its own. nor dies it make sense for it to be disguised as an idol and blighted and then somehow clean again. secondly it's already established that curing tranquility is pretty easy and you just need 1 (one) spirit to fix it. so like what's the problem. that's actually easier to solve than if the titans were just dead or physically fucked up somehow? thirdly it makes the whole world seem too small and beholden to the whims of one guy if solas did all this stuff. i think the other evanuris should get to be more active. andruil is already established to be really into messing with titans and possibly unleashing the blight, and half the evanuris get no lore at all... what's up with june and sylaise especially. they should get to contribute. i think june should have a mandatory towers of hanoi puzzle, as a treat.

and WHERE did flemythal's whole revenge scheme go. i was just waiting for her to have been using solas and everyone else all along to achieve her own goals... she did not forcibly possess generations of swamp witches just to maintain the status quo. where's that old god soul she went to so much effort to get? arguably even dumat's soul from the first blight may have been salvaged and put into andraste? did she have something to do with that? what was that codex entry about andraste maybe using a secret method to prevent her soul from departing when she died? what happened to those hints in dai about the avvar legends tying into the elves and titans? where's the well of souls juice that either morrigan or the inquisitor get dunked into? what was flemythal doing before solas "killed" her in the dai end credits? why did she tell hawke that stuff about leaping into the abyss?

we will simply never know, bc bioware had too many development mishaps and decided to fire half their staff without severance. sad. we need more passion project itchio game dev artist collectives or something, this late capitalist canadian liberal development process is not good for storytelling 😔

these are great questions. i also love how lyrium has no presence in the game outside of the dagger. red lyrium? never heard of it. and how the lyrium dagger was.... you know. cured of the blight. by solas. he cured red lyrium. he cured titans blood of the blight. how? dont worry about it. shouldnt this be extremely relevant to the entire blighted world of thedas? dont worry about it.

arcane season 2 wasn’t all that great now that I think back on it. I don’t think it’s the war crime much of the fanbase makes it out to be but it definitely wasn’t that good. I also think the people who insist it’s terrible that I’ve watched on yt came off as a little pretentious, while the people who insist it’s good and can’t accept that the media they like is flawed and made by humans so it always will be flawed, are kind of annoying.

Like it’s just kind of in the middle of good and bad. Some good ideas, some bad ideas, some ideas that betray everything the first season was setting up, but some good thematic content, as well as some really stupid thematic content.

What has us fooled is probably:

the fact that the show can be a lot to take in- this is the case for both seasons- so when you get confused on a character motivation but are too invested in the story to go back and figure it out. Unfortunately s2 had a lot of confusing stuff going on. Characters going from point a to point b to point c to point z to point an again really rapidly. In some cases (Jinx and Caitlyn especially) they didn’t even face appropriate consequences for their actions.

the incredible cinematography and animation. This show is beautiful to look at.

the fact that it’s arcane and we’re already attached to these characters and this world. It resembles that stuff enough.

The show’s use of pathos to make us care.

Good voice acting, the overall presentation is fantastic all around.

the story still keeps you invested

unfortunately it’s a bit messy. Spoilers ahead. -The Mel story arc feels disconnected from s1 and like the writers were forced to work in some way for her to become a playable character with special abilities in the game. Her part is just all around weaker this season. -Jinx getting redeemed and she and Vi becoming sisters again. S1 seemed to be setting up that Powder was dead, and that Jinx was becoming a villain and enemy to Vi. Yes, she had some humanity still in her, but she’s also a relentless killer. S2 woobifies her quite a bit, especially with giving her a daughter to look after. She seems less ugly as a character this time, and the show never acknowledges the fact that she literally kills people without remorse and is pretty fucking far gone. Like ok. I dig the first couple eps and how it shows she and Vi are enemies but still care abt each other. I don’t dig how fast their conflict resolves, and think it should have been done differently.

-Vander being Warwick is actually brilliant (didn’t know Warwick’s lore until after watching) and they don’t do really anything with it. They woobify him way too much and don’t explore it enough.

-the retcons of Victor being the mage and Slico and Vander knowing Jinx’s mom ruin the story. Especially silco. That’s just… ugh.

-The lesbian sex scene is so fucking funny like Jinx is basically leaving to off herself and locks Vi in her cell then Caitlin shows up and they boink.

-I still need to gather my thoughts on Vi becoming an enforcer. So she does this bc it’s canon the game I think. But it does make sense for her character. Shockingly. It initially seems odd but she displays hesitance at first before making the choice, and it does make sense that she makes said choice. She HAS changed, she recognizes that Zaun has issues, and she is partially responsible for one of them (Jinx). Also she cares about Caitlyn, an enforcer. Ironically, Caitlyn actually HAS replaced Jinx for her. She’s the person she stands with and looks after now. We also can see in subtle visual storytelling she doesn’t really like what she’s doing; just feels it is needed. However I still feel like the show could have explored it more? Like one scene or something idk. I mean the writers themselves said they were bored of Vi and wanted to focus on other things. Which is odd since she gets a lot of screen time anyway… the enforcer stuff is so interesting and it needed more exploration I think. Idk my memory’s getting foggy already.

-the Warwick pathos ruins the story a little. Too many things get resolved: Caitlyn rejoins Vi, he abruptly ends the conflict between Vi and Jinx. And the show never acknowledges the nuances of either major conflicts. Caitlyn went cold and became this ruthless borderline possibly straight up war criminal (idk what qualifies as a war crime I mean u kill people in war and killing people is illegal so war is technically a crime legalized by the govt), Jinx is a remorseless killer, are we just gonna ignore that? Yes? Bc they care about wolf dad? Ok….

-Viktor’s arc goes too fast and needed more time to develop. He gets a messiah complex and I see how he heads down that path but he could have used an additional episode or something. Jayce’s arc is a bit better executed but fuck that retcon of Viktor being the mage.

all I can think of rn. Keep in mind that a lot of this is based on opinion and a fleeting memory of the show not necessarily objective fact and expertise on the series. I’m an tumblr user, not a God of media literacy. My opinions are subject to change.

It’s a horror AU so uh… warning for that kind of stuff? Also another warning for this being the goofiest AU ever (and its still a WIP so a bunch of things could change and I still actually do need to add more- so don’t take any of this as if it’s gonna stay in the AU forever)

Ok so when I normally think about this AU, I think of RPG/Visual Novel-styled games? Or like Undertale? Yk what I mean. I’m taking some inspo off of Mad Father, Mario The Music Box, etc too. So if you see me describing anything like it’s a video game (saying “you as [character]”, etc.) that’s why😭 this most likely won’t be made into an actual game sadly </3

I barely have a plot for it rn, I just know they get teleported to some other dimension thing? and there’s a mansion (obvi) they have to escape ?? But I do know what happens to some characters (Like Amy :D)! I’m thinking of maybe some unexpected ones could team up (because, if you didn’t know, I have a this weird obsession with rare character dynamics and relationships) like Tails and Blaze? Because you barely see them together.

I don’t know all the characters that are gonna be in the AU yet, but I’m thinking of Sonic (WHICH ISN’T DEAD OR EVIL FOR ONCE IN A HORROR AU! LET’S GOOOO!!! He suffers with his friends instead of making them suffer himself), Tails Doll, Amy, Knuckles, Blaze, Silver, Shadow, Rouge, maybe even Cream?

Of course there’s monsters and entities in this, so one of them possibly takes control of Amy? Or tries to, until YOU, AS SILVER, GO TO THE GARDEN AND FIND HER!! There, you’re left with a choice (a bunch of stuff happen prior to this btw, this isn’t at the start of the story):

First thing he does it try to find if anyone else is here. So… he does just that. He enters the weird giant ahh mansion infront of him and calls out for anyone. He explores a ton, finding important objects, a weird doll that looks oddly familiar which he decides to just ignore and leave there, and also hurts his foot as yk- He does reunite with Blaze for a moment, though they’re immediately separated by obvi another monster.

He gets thrown back outside the mansion, into the garden. In that garden? Well yk what he finds😭

Blaze:

Fun fact: it was this doodle that started this whole thing !!

Also dont have much for Blaze, but she’s the first I doodled so I’ll be trying to make stuff up abt her in this (maybe on the spot even)

She’s confused why she can’t teleport back to Sol or anywhere else. Or why she can’t escape this mansion-place-thing. Actually they’re all confused abt that but wtv- Using her pyrokinesis, she can light torches and other things so she can see in darker areas. She can also just light her hand up too, but this takes energy from her ^_^

At some point, she reunites with Silver!! Then they’re separated by another monster. He was thrown into the garden, while she was thrown into a dark room.

In that room, she finds a doll. It looks a lot like Tails for some reason…?

She’s weirded out and judging it (I would too)

If she grabs it, she notices how real it feels? Like it actually feels like Tails… which is creepy. SUDDENLY IT TRIES ATTACKING HER (LOL?) BUT—

—before she has time to process anything, Tails pushes her out of the way (she notices his ear is missing) and points his arm cannon to…

….whatever that is.

Am I being cringy? Yes. Do i care? …honestly kinda, yeah- but I’m not gonna let myself do anything abt it

I don’t have much else with her. They fight it and become a silly duo and uhhh yeah-

Cream:

No art yet, but she’s definitely appearing now. Uhh I know she find the doll (btw I’m refusing to call it “Tails Doll” bc THEY’RE NOT THE SAME! I PROLLY SHOULDN’T HAVE CHOSEN TAILS THEN BUT IDC..) at some point and it tricks her into thinking it’s good. So like she drags it around while she explores, trying to find Amy or anyone.

Also no art yet (other than the one with Blaze I already showed), but basically he was with Sonic when they entered. Bunch of stuff in between happen, they get stuck in a room, Sonic watches the monster-thing literally rip Tails’s ear off and make a fking doll out of it bc it was feeling a lil quirky (well they do get quirky at night /ref), Sonic then believes Tails is dead, meanwhile Tails literally tried escaping and ended up all the way on the other end of this giant goofy mansion—

Lautski Headcanons

General

- Pete’s a fan of video essays and MatPat, Steph knows of the YouTube channel but always thought it was kind of stupid, that was until she rewatched a few videos with Pete and the next day she was already 5 FNAF analysis theories in.

- They play video and board games a lot. Steph wins most of them but some games have a bit of a more even chance of either of them winning. She beat him at chess first try and he acted so surprised (she cheated and he pretended not to notice.)

- Steph tried to get him to play a horror game for funny reactions, but Pete stayed completely still and didn’t make a noise during the jumpscares. Turns out he has a very solid freeze response. Funnily enough, on the opposite end he absolutely freaks out when they play kiddie horror games or games with minor jumpscares you wouldn’t expect. So I guess he only does that during horror games he knows are horror.

- In general, they do a lot of things for each other that they wouldn’t have expected to do on their own. Like one time Steph recommended to sneak into a movie theater which Pete was a little against at first. When he tried, he was an absolute expert at it (he’s very observant), and it’s especially helpful to have him around since he brings food.

- Despite Pete usually being seen as a coward, he’d give up anything to keep her safe. He has a good heart and any hint of fear he may have had before goes away in a situation where she’s genuinely threatened. In turn, Steph protects him in most situations (mainly in school status since if the Stephanie Lauter is dating him her friends say be that bad.) So while he’s willing to protect her in times that matter, she protects him everywhere else.

- They do still argue sometimes, both being pretty stubborn when it comes to who will apologize. Arguments usually solve themselves since they can’t stay mad at each other for too long before they just want each other together again.

Headcanon Minis

- They have a lot of small things in common that people wouldn’t expect.

- Pete is almost always cold despite the temperate while Steph is almost always hot.

- They’re Bi for Bi if I’ve ever seen one. (Or another sexuality in that umbrella.)

Bonus

- Diner dates! Pete is reading all of the historical information on the walls and saying stuff like “Wow, Steph! Can you believe this place was visited by so many celebrities of the past?” And Steph responds with “That’s just bullshit they put on the walls for the seniors here to think the food is good.”

- Little does she know that he was just thinking that! Their food arrives and it’s a lot better than Steph expected. They do the classic couples thing of ordering a shared milkshake for desert. What flavor? You guessed it, chocolate!

- It goes well and romantic and they’re close to a kiss until Ruth and Richie show up and badly hide behind a plant in the corner. They wanted to hear everything about the date and let’s just say their hiding space is less than easy to see with Ruth’s bright orange outfit and Richie’s very noticeable blue highlights peaking out the top of the leaves. Not to mention that they could clearly see them sneaking in and loudly mumbling to each other on there way to the spot.

- The date instantly becomes a friend event now, much to the disappointment of Ruth and Richie. (Ruth chugs the milkshake in like one sip, it’s crazy.) but this may be for the best since cue Grace in the background in an actually good hiding place with binoculars making sure they don’t do anything as inappropriate as kissing if they’re only 18.

SO...ONE MORE RANT CUZ I DON'T PAY ATTENTION sob

I just recently found out Jimmy didn't hurt Anya after the layoff, but way before. Which makes so much sense, and it hurts more and I'm sad I forgot, sooo I truly do not feel bad for Jimmy when I say I despise him even with how complex he is.

How did I forget/scramble it? Because as someone who saw Anya at her best in Curly's perspective you tend to miss stuff like Jimmy disrespecting Anya and her holding her stomach after worrying about her savings. I assumed it was a nervous move she does, and after the layoff he decided he really had nothing to lose. So, he just went off with the disrespect because he does to Daisuke as well with "Mommy and Daddy" phrase. But I went back and watched, yea she was really trying to stay strong for the sake of keeping the peace.

But seeing as how, easy it was for Jimmy to lash out at Curly over some bad news, because of Curly playing friend instead of Captain with Jimmy. She hides the gun, tells Curly twice about what Jimmy did and Curly's verbal support was nice but what Anya needed was more support. Emotions were high, Anya sees the best in people in their monstruous, worse moments: So she confronts Jimmy, alone...He could've hit her anything but storms out to grab the gun. Upon realizing she hid it or maybe Curly hid it, he decides to crash it to simply kill her, he doesn't think about the others. Except the fact that this whole thing could be a tragedy, Curly should have taken the hint there but was the silent, complicit bystander.

Now this is where the what ifs come in, Curly tells Anya. You should've been with me to confront him. I feel like in theory that if they both had confronted Jimmy, it would have been slightly better/different but wouldn't change their fate per say. Which is tragic when you think about it, there are so many what ifs.

Beyond the what ifs there is the "whom is at fault" In my pov, Jimmy and Pony Express are forever at fault. Pony Express acts like a typical money hungry company, Jimmy while he was mentally unstable had many chances to get his act together, but he had a self-victimization mindset. The only time he ever considers to even care for everyone else is when he can pin the blame onto Curly or someone else. The party, he exclaims that Curly wants to get away from them and tries to act like he cares. But proceeds to disrespect Anya and Daisuke.

He already has a perception of Anya and Daisuke, Anya this unaccomplished nurse who can't get into medical because she's....well let's just be real. Daisuke's fine because mommy and daddy have him covered.

He literally degrades Anya then infantilizes Daisuke and jabs at him for having help. He's simply projecting.

I know I rant about him and Pony Express a lot, but I like to discuss it. Because it gives me the chance to point out that this whole game is calling out a lot of things. "Complicite bystander", "Abusive work places", "Abusive people", "Holding someone accountable", and Taking responsibility.

Not just Jimmy, but Swansea, Pony Express, and Curly. Curly blames himself for not taking responsibility for Anya's safety because she is his priority, Swansea also blames himself for Daisuke. While he fails both him and Anya, he does try to atone. But he was still complicit during Anya's continued abuse. Jimmy never takes responsibility, just like how Pony Express will never take responsibility for practically sending them all on a practical suicide mission.

Pony Express sends them off with the remaining Cargo, fires them, they discover it's mouthwash which signifies how much everyone is worth on this ship. This includes Jimmy, their worth is now compared to a sugary bottle of alcohol....

Jimmy waters the people he abuses worths down, and when it happens to him. He's going through it mentally, but so are the others. Does he care? Not really, in a way he's the abusive aspect of Pony Express, they don't take the psych evals seriously, he doesn't either. They only show them to pretend they care, he asks Curly how he's feeling to pretend he cares then turns around and uses it against him.

Now don't get me wrong, Jimmy is smart, but not that smart. He's smart in terms of emotional manipulation but in terms of the consequences of his actions coming back to bite him. Not one bit, he knew how to spike a drink, knew how to crash the ship, knew how to manipulate Curly and make it about himself. But didn't expect everything to not work out, he expected everything and everyone to just accept and praise him.

Anya is not going to praise you for giving the pills three times, Swansea isn't going to praise you for claiming the role of Captain, and Daisuke while Jimmy believes is naive, he's not going to praise you for emotionally manipulating him and trying to twist the story about Anya and Swansea.

We all know Daisuke had a gut feeling about Jimmy but he was so focused on wanting to impress Swansea it sadly got him hurt.

Now lets rewind back to the responsibility part, Anya.

Anya was also complicit like Curly, I know it breaks my heart to even think about that but it's true. Curly is her patient, and she knows Jimmy is abusive she sees it firsthand twice and so does Curly. They parallel one another because of it, being pregnant, miscarrying most likely and seeing your abuser roam free, it does a lot.

We also gotta remember that Jimmy never sees Anya at all, the only time he ever does is when he has to give Curly pills. Which is three times, he uses that as a chance to perceive her as this clingy, crying nurse who can't do her job....even though she's been caring for Curly for 3 months straight. Then after her death he doesn't even know what to do to care for Daisuke and Curly, which is ironic because he and Swansea both talk crap about her work ethics but don't even know what to do without her.

It shows how they don't know what they're talking about and how that something/someone they believed was insignificant could make a huge difference in the situation.

All those times she didn't give Curly his meds, it was because of nausea, "The baby", second time is she was telling Swansea about Jimmy, she's grieving, and Swansea told her his plan. Third time it's because she's uncomfortable because Curly cannot consent to it, and Jimmy goes off, do these justify the abuse of her patient and her complicity, no not at all. But it just shows how much of a struggle she's going through and let's not forget that her baby bump was probably getting bigger, but Jimmy ignores it because he believes it's not his fault but instead hers.

It's so tragic how everyone lost their lives, simply because the company didn't care to tend to their safety and because Jimmy wouldn't take responsibility.

Sorry if this is confusing, jumbled and makes everything sad. There is a lot to analyze.

One thing we can all agree on is, Capitalism, work abuse, and Company greed was a huge part of the problem. It sounds small and a small detail in the game but also a huge problem. Pony Express is lazy and cheap- Anya, Pony Express bankrupt and laying everyone off illegally.

Pony Express having psych evals but not pressing the importance of it because they do not care about their workers. And said workers not taking it seriously thus leading to the nurse being harassed.

Okay so apparently my thoughts don't fit into the tags, so pardon me for adding so much to your post, i have a lot of thoughts -.-

Let me preface this with yes, this game could have had a lot of improvements, we all know this, but at the end of the day i do love this game.

HOWEVER storywise there are some things I would change/may change in my own personal fanfiction

spoilers ahead

1. Cyrian shouldn't have died. Stop causing needless grief to these characters because you can't think of anything more interesting to write. (Also looking at Taash's quest with killing Shathaan.) Either make the choice be between stopping Anaris and saving Cyrian, or let Cyrian be part of the decision to free or keep the archive (especially considering he was literally manipulated by its creator)

2. if you save Minrathous over Treviso and Jacobus turns into a darkspawn at the end that makes a single final effort to reap some justice for all that he's lost and all that's been done to him and his family and his city, and everyone else (or at least Teia) is a LITTLE concerned that he doesn't seem well before that final mission with the governor, but afterwards NO ONE EVEN MENTIONS THIS CHILD DIED ???? not a single thing about this boy who can't be older than 15 (AT MOST) and no one mentions a single thing about him dying and taking down the governor with him???? it makes me so mad and is a large part of why outside of my shadow dragon rook I can't bring myself to save Minrathous. he's a kid and he's part of the crows so his life already sucks and not a single mention of him after he dies.

3. i think i would have switched the battles with Ivenci and the Butcher timeline wise. The Butcher is such a fascinating and intimidating antagonist, we should have gotten more of him. so you meet the Butcher and he rats out Ivenci. Ivenci freaks out and does their whole qamek plot as a last desperate act. And THEN you come back to face the Butcher again, who then succumbs to the gods' power and gives you the location (which would also make more sense as the actual final quest before the end act begins, instead of having one last side quest to do after you've seemingly wrapped everything else up and have the gods' location?) Personally, I feel like Ivenci was the annoying secondary villain to the Treviso missions, but they put them as the final big bad instead of the Butcher?? So I would switch that around.

Overall, I didn't care much for some of the forced binary choices. Davrin having to choose between sending the griffons to Arlathan or the Wardens, when there are plenty of griffons to share between them. Send six to Arlathan and six to the Wardens. Both have fair points on why they're needed at each place, but maybe don't put all your eggs in one basket, that's kind of what led to this whole problem in the first place when they decided to blight ALL their existing griffons??? And the whole thing of Taash realizing they can step outside the binary in regards to their gender, but when it comes to their culture, no. you have to pick. One (1). ??? Even AFTER Rook has a whole conversation with them about the strengths of having a multi-cultural background??

And of course, stuff plenty of other people have already talked about (could have had more with Lucanis, actually show the whole thing with Illario and Zara; let Rook actually talk with the companions at the lighthouse instead of just eavesdropping on their conversations; etc.)

But that's what fanfiction is for, right? Thank you for the base you've provided us, Bioware, but we'll take it from here.
